Pa soft bmw scanner 1.4

The device is recognized just fine and the software opens up just fine, the problem is when i connect the device to my OBD2 connector on my 2003 BMW 745Li, i get the Connection Error with IKE and Connection error with EWS, i've followed some other threads that suggest that i should bridge pins 1 and 2 and pins 7 and 8. I just purchased a BMW scanner v1.4.0, i just received it and have installed the usb drivers on my windows 10 computer 64 bit. Hello everyone, i'm sorry if this question seems stupid or has been asked somewhere else before but i can't seem to find the correct answer.
